“Contemplations in Patterns and Textures”
Using haptics and nonlanguage communication, with her show, "Contemplations in Patterns and Textures," Kelly Jean Ohl exhibits large intricately carved ceramic pieces that provide a unique sensory experience. These new pieces were designed specifically for the Kolman & Reeb Gallery using resources provided to her by her Project Space Grant. The exhibition runs through Jan. 6, 2024. The Big Tiny Show
Kolman & Reeb Gallery rings in 2024 by showcasing art created by more than 50 artists from across Minnesota with a juried group exhibition, The Big Tiny Show. Scents to Scenes
Kolman & Reeb Gallery announced its next Project Space grantee exhibition, "Scents to Scenes," showcasing landscape paintings by plein air artist Cheryl LeClair-Sommer. LeClair-Sommer used fragrance as a catalyst to search for locations that embodied the properties of those scents. The characteristics of each perfume inspired the mood and helped predict the color palette of the work. Loretta Bebeau has had a studio in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District for 20 years, but she and her art have traveled around the state. Feb. 29-March 31, she'll have an exhibit at the Hopkins Center for the Arts, 1111 Main St. The exhibition features paintings, drawings and collages spanning from her early work to her current practice. A recurring theme is the importance of health across human cultures, as well as her own personal challenge of hearing loss.
