Minnesota-made films at MSP Film Festival
Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival 42 runs through April 27 at The Main Cinema, 115 SE Main St., with additional screenings at the Capri, 2027 W. Broadway. Films include the world premiers of "40 Below: The Toughest Race in the World," an intimate look at one of the most brutal endurance races which takes place in northern Minnesota, and "Minnesota Mean," which follows the inside track of the Minnesota Roller Derby. The Great River Coalition will hold its 8th annual Earth Day 5K Bee Run/Walk/River Cleanup at Boom Island Park in Minneapolis on Saturday, April 22, 9 am-12 pm. The event features a family- and dog-friendly fun run/walk, river cleanup and Earth Day festivities to protect pollinators and their habitat. Compassion Clinic, a free medical and dental clinic, will be open Saturday, April 22, 9 am-4 pm at Highview Middle School, 2300 7th St. NW, New Brighton. Compassion Clinic will offer dental cleanings, extractions and fillings, medical exams, vision checks and free eyeglasses, physical therapy, chiropractic care, haircuts, foot care, social services and lunch.
