Tree lottery opens
Minneapolis property owners can enter the lottery to purchase a $30 tree from the city through March 31. One entry is allowed per Minneapolis address. Those selected in the lottery will get an email in April with the date when they can order. Those who buy a tree can pick it up May 20, 21 or 22 (subject to change). Toy Train Show and Swap Meet
Join the Lakes and Pines Division of the Train Collectors Association (TCA) for a toy train show and swap meet on Sunday, March 12, 12:15-2:30 pm at Murzyn Hall, 530 Mill St. NE. Hot Dash, the running event with a food reward at the end, will be held Saturday, March 25, starting at 8 am at Boom Island Park, 724 Sibley St. NE. 5K runners start at 8:45, 10-milers at 9:15. 14th Minnesota Cuban Film Festival
