10th annual Cine Latino Film Fest
Cine Latino, the annual celebration of new Latin American and Ibero cinema, returns Oct. 13-20 for its tenth edition in the newly refurbished MSP Film at The Main Cinema, 115 Main Street SE. All-access passes to Cine Latino are on sale at MSPfilm.org and cost $60 for MSP Film Society members, $100 for general public—and include a 1-year Core Membership. Northeast Minneapolis-based artist Ellie Kidder is seeking participation from women (including femme/transgender/non-binary) for a new art project funded by Minnesota State Art Board called Women of Northeast Minneapolis. The finished work will present a variety of stories about the communities the participating women are part of, in the form of writings and portraits. Twin Cities German Film Festival

Compassionate Ocean Zen Center, 652 17th Ave. NE, invites neighbors and those curious about Zen to attend an open house on Friday, Nov. 4, 7-9 pm. They offer opportunities for meditation practice and retreats, weekly talks, and classes on Buddhist teachings. Programs in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) are held four times a year.
