St. Anthony Nite to Unite
Residents of St. Anthony, this is an opportunity to put together a neighborhood celebration, turn on the front porch lights, gather with neighbors and friends, get to know one another, catch up on things, play some games with the kids, enjoy a few hot-off-the-grill favorites, have some ice cream, receive a visit from the police/fire department and build a sense of community. Sheridan Neighborhood Organization will hold its Annual Ice Cream 'SNOcial' Wednesday, August 4, 6-8 pm, at SNO Community Garden #2, 611 13th Ave NE. This free event includes Fletcher's ice cream, grilled food, community activities and discussions, and fun for the whole family. Take a guided walking tour of the Minneapolis riverfront and learn about its dramatic past and bright future. Tour highlights include the Stone Arch Bridge, a National Historic Landmark, and St. Anthony Falls, the only significant waterfall on the Mississippi River. To replenish supplies for Twin Cities’ hospitals, trauma centers, and air ambulance bases, more healthy donors are needed at blood drives and donor centers in the coming weeks. The Columbia Heights High School Key Club is hosting their annual compost fundraiser, called Plate to Garden, during gardening season at the Columbia Heights Recycling Center, Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm.
