Spark-Y: “The Art of Youth Empowerment”
Visit Spark-Y during Art-A-Whirl and explore the intersections of art, sustainability and entrepreneurship with an open house - and spring plant sale - featuring youth made art. Purchase hanging floral baskets and Victory Garden kits - variety seed packets that include tomato, cucumber, marigold, cilantro, spring onion and jalapeno - to support Spark-Y’s many activities, $40 each. Whisker Rescue will hold an adoption event where passersby can meet and interact with up to a half-dozen cats and kittens ready for new homes. The event will be at the Quarry PetSmart on Saturday, June 1 from 1-4 p.m. To see the selection and make applications ahead of time, go to Petfinder.com and screen for Whisker Rescue Spring Lake Park. The call for art is open for the 2025 Northeast Calendar, coordinated by the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District. Images should represent Northeast in various ways and seasons.
