We will cancel or postpone our organization’s events where 250 or more people would gather, and smaller events where social distancing is not practical (being six feet apart for conversations of 10 minutes or longer). We encourage artists and venues in the district to do the same.

Alexandra House's annual Hope Gala typically raises a significant amount of funds (the goal was to raise $165,000) which support the organization in the first half of the year. These funds are so critical for the organization to provide direct services to domestic and sexual violence survivors. BUT victim/survivors need our community – now more than ever – to ensure Alexandra House has the financial resources to care for them at the worst moment in their lives.

Coronavirus news updates for the deaf community
A special Facebook Group has been created to share COVID-19 news updates with the larger deaf community. Started by Minneapolis resident and deaf community activist Ellie Kidder, the group shares information daily, engaging people in the community who feel scared and anxious. There will be a virtual informational meeting about the Neighborhoods 2020 draft guidelines, Thursday, April 2, 6-8 pm. The virtual meeting replaces the previously planned in-person meeting, which has been cancelled. . The public comment period on the guidelines runs through April 17.
