Following a Sept. 18 update at Beltrami Park, a merger vote will take place 6:30 pm Wednesday, Oct. 25 at the Northeast Park recreation center, 1530 Johnson St. NE. The merger will be considered a yes vote by a 51% approval from members of the Beltrami, Logan Park and Northeast Park neighborhoods.

Saving St. Anthony Falls
John Anfinson, Ph.D., will lecture on the history of and problems with the massive cutoff wall that literally holds up St. Anthony Falls, which has not been seen or inspected since 1876. Anfinson served as district historian and cultural resources program manager of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and as superintendent for the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area, a unit of the National Park Service. The ever-popular Northeast Calendar is now available for pickup at a location near you. It contains images created by 12 Northeast artists. Book sale at Pierre Bottineau
Friends of the Pierre Bottineau Library will hold a book sale on Saturday, Dec. 2, 10 am-2 pm at the Pierre Bottineau Library, 55 Broadway St. NE. Hundreds of adult and children's fiction and nonfiction books (most 50¢ - $1) in hardcover and paperback. They will also sell "blind date" books. Items have been withdrawn from the Hennepin County Library system or donated by the public. Funds raised will benefit the library. Cash only.
