Ard Godfrey House open Aug. 10
The Ard Godfrey house, in Chute Square, Central and University avenues NE, will be open for tours, Saturday, Aug. 10, 1-4 pm (last full tour at 3:30 pm). The house is the oldest remaining wood frame house in Minneapolis, first occupied by Ard Godfrey, a millwright, and his wife Harriet in 1849. Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 701 Fillmore St. NE, is hosting a fundraiser to support the Archdiocesan Catholic Deaf Ministry on Sunday, Aug. 18. The ASL interpreted concert features country music singer Kristine Wriding, who grew up in Minneapolis and now resides in Nashville.
