New exhibit and puppet shows: Waterways and Otterways
Local artist Kat Corrigan brings her show Waterways and Otterways, a collection of river otter paintings, to the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization Stormwater Park and Learning Center. The community is invited to a series of free interactive community events for all ages to celebrate the art with a puppet show, make-and-take coloring books, and a community mural project.

Join the Lakes and Pines Division of the Train Collectors Association (TCA) for a toy train show and swap meet on Sunday, Nov. 11, 12:15-2:30 pm at Murzyn Hall, 530 Mill St. NE, Columbia Heights. St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 4101 Washington St. NE, is hosting their twenty-third annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 22 following their 10 am service. The free turkey dinner with all the trimmings is served from 11 am-2:30 pm. This dinner is open to any families and individuals in need of a welcome place to spend the holiday. Meals can be delivered to the Columbia Heights area by calling the church at 763-788-9427.

Columbia Heights Library 90th anniversary open house and photo exhibit
Columbia Heights Public Library, 3939 Central Ave. NE, will celebrate its 90th anniversary with an open house, Saturday, Dec. 1, 11 am-4 pm. The event will feature live 1920s-era music with the band “FlipSide,” refreshments, children’s activities, and a memorabilia display with collectibles and ephemera from each of the library’s decades of service. The 90th anniversary photo exhibit, a collaboration with the Northeaster Newspaper, will debut at this event.

Merchants at the St. Anthony Village Shops will host their annual Winter in the Village event Friday, Dec. 7 with horse-drawn trolley rides, a scavenger hunt and all sorts of fun activities for families while waiting to take a ride.
