Ukrainian Heritage festival
Celebrate the rich Ukrainian culture and unique traditions kept alive by Minnesota's vibrant Ukrainian-American community. Enjoy Ukrainian entertainment, homemade foods like varenyky (pierogi), holubtsi (stuffed cabbage rolls), and borsch (beet soup), have fun and support Ukraine. Performances by Cheremosh Ukrainian dance ensemble; music by the Ukrainian Village Band; a unique cultural exhibit; Ukrainian Easter egg-making demonstrations and craft vendors; beer garden with local and international beers; children's games. HeightsNEXT Central Ave. fall clean up
Meet Saturday, Oct. 7, 9 am at Columbia Heights Public Library, 3939 Central Ave. NE to pick up safety vests and garbage bags, then get your street/park assignment. (Park assignments are made for families with young children who participate.) Each group goes to their area and safely picks up trash from the sidewalks and vegetation along the sidewalks (or park).
