Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church will hold a garage sale June 22-23 in its parking lot at 27th Ave. and Johnson St. NE to benefit the Little Kitchen Food Shelf. They're looking for donations of items to sell as well as volunteers. They can turn your unwanted household items into food for hungry neighbors. Persona Bell: Domestic Violence Awareness Fundraiser
Homegrown talent Persona Bell, now living in Charlotte, NC, returns to Minneapolis for a one-night concert, July 13 at the Historic Ritz theater in NE Minneapolis. Persona studied piano at The MacPhail Center for Music for nine years under Victoria Sabo, was a member of the Visitation (Mendota Heights), De LaSalle High School and St.Olaf College choirs. Bywood East Health Care, 3427 Central Ave. NE, will have its 12th annual "Battle of the Bird Houses" silent auction, Saturday, July 21, 9 am-1 pm. In addition to the large assortment of birdhouses to bid on, there will be grilled hotdogs, pop, and chips. Alumni and friends of Edison High School are invited to attend the annual Art Solz/Frank Rog Memorial Golf Tournament Monday, July 30 at Columbia Park golf course. Scramble start at 11:30 am, free brats and hotdogs along the course. Winner of the hole-in-one contest receives a Toyota Camry. Entry fee is $110 per golfer and includes use of a cart and dinner. Caramel Fest at Mt. Carmel Lutheran
Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church, 1701 St. Anthony Pkwy., will hold its annual Caramel Fest Saturday, Sept. 8, 11 am-3 pm. It's a a day of food (yes, there will be caramel, including apple caramel brats from Ready's Meats), live music and games to benefit The Sheridan Story.
