Book and vintage vinyl sale at Pierre Bottineau
Friends of the Pierre Bottineau Library will hold a book sale on Saturday, Dec. 3, 10 am-2 pm at the Pierre Bottineau Library, 55 Broadway St. NE. Thousands of adult and children's fiction and nonfiction books in hardcover and paperback as well as vintage vinyl. "Blind date" books for sale. My Very Own Bed's ninth annual Beds & Bluegrass fundraiser will be held Saturaday, Dec. 10, 3-7 pm at the Ukrainian Event Center, 301 Main St. NE. Enjoy bluegrass music by The Thirsty River and Minneapolis' "big fun string band" Luke Warm & the Cool Hands, games for the kids, craft beers by Bauhaus Brew Labs and Fair State Brewing, appetizers and a silent auction. The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will roll through Northeast Tuesday, Dec. 13, making a stop at Lions Park on 37th Avenue between 37th Avenue & Stinson Blvd. at 8 pm. The St. Anthony Band Boosters will host a pancake breakfast on Sunday, March 12, 8 am-12 pm at St. Anthony Village High School, 3303 33rd Ave NE (in the commons area). There will be music from 8th grade & high school jazz bands. Tickets are $10, $8 for seniors, children 5 and under eat free. Pancakes, sausage, fruit toppings, coffee, juice and milk. Holy Cross will hold fish fries on Fridays throughout the Lenten season, with the exception of March 10 and April 7. They run 5-7 pm Feb. 24, March 3, 17, 24 and 31. Adults $12, children under 12 $2. All proceeds will go to the Don Bosco Youth Fund, which encourages the youth within the parish to pursue a life of discipleship through Catholic education, family faith formation and other youth activities.

Join Southern Anoka Community Assistance (SACA) at their 11th annual "Hops for Hunger" fundraiser Friday, March 24, 6-9 pm at Quincy Hall, 1325 Quincy St. NE.
