Columbia Heights Lions Hygiene Drive
Columbia Heights Lions Club will hold a Hygiene Drive, Friday, April 26, 2-5 pm in the back lot of Murzyn Hall, 530 Mill St. NE. Items needed: feminine products, deodorant, toothbrushes & paste, soap, etc. All items benefit Columbia Heights Schools. Monetary donations accepted.

“Prudence and Misfortune”
"Prudence and Misfortune" is an exhibition at NE Sculpture|Gallery Factory, 1720 Madison St. NE #14. The work of Michael Sommers, the show is about the Prudence and Misfortune of materials, not lost nor forgotten, but rediscovered, repurposed, shaped by hands and eyes that see and cannot see. The St. Anthony Civic Orchestra will present its annual orchestra benefit concert Saturday, May 11, 7:30 pm at the St. Anthony Community Center, 3301 Silver Lake Road NE. Admission $10. Concert, silent auction and dessert. The Vital Living Program at East Side Neighborhood Services has a limited number of wheelchair-accessible standing garden beds available in their community garden for older adults. Gardening tools and water available onsite. You will need to provide your plants and seeds. No cost for these garden beds, but space is limited. Northeast Calendar Call for Art
The call for art is open for the 2025 Northeast Calendar, coordinated by the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District. Images should represent Northeast in various ways and seasons. Deadline Sept. 1, 2024. All mediums welcome; submissions should be print-ready digital images. Summer Slam
Summer Slam is a fundraiser for the Thomas Edison high school wrestling team to support their need for new gear and other expenses. The event will begin on July 12 with a barbecue at noon and wrestling matches starting at 3:30 pm. Twin Cities River Rats Waterskiing Shows
Free shows are held every Thursday, 7-8:30 pm, June-August on the Mississippi River between the Plymouth and Broadway Bridges. Arrive early for parking. Bring lawn chairs or blanket for seating.
