Applications accepted through October 18, 2019 for the 15 City Council and Mayorally-appointed community member Food Council seats during the January 2020-December 2021 term. The Homegrown Minneapolis Food Council is a City advisory group that convenes and engages diverse stakeholders to identify and propose innovative solutions to improve the local food system. The Food Council is partnering in development and implementation of the Minneapolis Food Action Plan. Saturday, Oct. 26, 10 am–3 pm, Faith United Methodist Church - Saint Anthony, 2708 33rd Ave NE. Come together, and learn from one another, to fight racism in Minnesota. Lunch is provided. A free event presented by Commission on Race and Religion of the Minnesota United Methodist Church. All are welcome. Key sessions include "Race and Grace" - Rev. St. Anthony Chamber happy hour and donation drive for military kids
The St Anthony Village Area Chamber of Commerce will have a free Networking Happy Hour, Thursday, Nov. 14, 5:30-7 pm, at Village Pub, 2720 County Road 88. Participants can expand their business circle and are encouraged to by bringing a donation for the Toys 4 Military Kids Yellow Ribbon Program.

Mary Henry, a local graphic artist, art educator, and designer of two of the historical books published by the Historical Society, will be with them to describe a new project that she has taken
on for the Society.
Parking Lot renovation open house
The parking lot on the west side of Johnson Street south of the 29th Avenue corner needs renovation. Plans for water runoff capture, repaving, curbs, and landscaping will be available for community review at an open house Monday, Nov. 18, 4:30-6:30 pm, with a formal presentation at 5:30 pm by consultants.
