There are bird counts, and there are bike counts. Volunteers are needed to count the number of bicyclists and pedestrians at several locations around Minneapolis and surrounding Hennepin County. The main days for counting will be September 11-13. All count shifts are from 4 to 6 pm. Bicyclist and pedestrian counts are conducted to understand the impact of nonmotorized traffic on streets, sidewalks, and trails. Weed It & Reap: Fall edition
For more than 20 years, hundreds of volunteers from businesses, local schools, athletic teams, faith groups and community service organizations have given a few hours of their time during the first full weekends of May and October to pick up litter on their blocks, boulevards, sidewalks, streets, alleys and community green spaces to make the streets clean.
