HeightsNEXT pet bed workshop
Winter is hardest for homeless animals, and HeightsNEXT helps by hosting a pet bed workshop in partnership with the Columbia Heights Public Library, 3939 Central Avenue NE, Saturday, Feb. 11, 11 am-2 pm. Grocery shop for seniors
Grocery shop for seniors through Help At Your Door. Start your day off right and get some exercise while helping older adults meet their grocery needs. As a volunteer shopper you will work with a team of volunteers to fill orders at the grocery store for about 3 hours once a week or twice per month. Volunteers do not pay for groceries. HeightsNEXT has organized a spring cleanup on Central Ave. Volunteers meet Saturday, April 22, 9 am in the parking lot of the Columbia Heights Public Library, 3939 Central Ave. NE. Bags and safety vests provided. Volunteers should bring their gloves and dress appropriately for trash cleanup and the weather. Columbia Heights Lions will host a hygiene drive 2-5 pm Friday, April 28 in the back parking lot of Murzyn Hall, 530 Mill St. NE. Registration is now open for Northeast Park Neighborhood Association's spring Bean Bag Tournament on Sunday, April 30, at Sociable Cider Werks, 1500 Fillmore St. NE, 1-3 pm. Put a two-person team together and join them. The cost is just $20 and it goes to support the Northeast Park Neighborhood Association.
