Invasive plant removal at Sheridan Memorial Park
The Sheridan Neighborhood Organization (SNO) is starting a long-term partnership with the Friends of the Mississippi River to help maintain the river banks along the Mississippi at Sheridan Memorial Park. Learn about invasive species, how to identify them, how to remove them effectively. Eventually, the group will plant native species to revitalize the landscape. Friends of the Mississippi River will present The River Dreams on Thursday, Sept. 29, 6 pm at the Nicollet Island Pavilion. This year's festivities will feature stories of hopes and dreams for the river, and the work FMR is spearheading in pursuit of these dreams. Pulling invasive plants
Volunteers are needed for a final (for this year) “invasive plant pull” Saturday, Oct. 15, 10 am-noon along the Sheridan Memorial Park at 13th Avenue and the Mississippi.
