Quilt drive at Knit & Bolt
Knit & Bolt, 2833 Johnson Street NE, has partnered with The Peoples Laundry Mpls., which provides laundry assistance and clothing to neighbors in need, to launch a quilt drive for unhoused neighbors. From now through Oct. 13, drop a clean, new or gently-used quilt at Knit & Bolt. Hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10 am-6 pm.

Fall Central Avenue Cleanup
HeightsNEXT is organizing volunteers for a Cleanup on Central Avenue and nearby parks. Volunteers should meet Saturday, Oct. 16, 9 am in the parking lot of the Columbia Heights Public Library, 3939 Central Ave. NE. Bags and safety vests will be provided. Catholic Eldercare residents are back in the dining room, sharing conversation and meals together. The organization seeks volunteers for dining hosts and dining escorts weekdays 10 am-1:30 pm and cashiers for their Streetcar Café weekdays 11:45 am-12:45 pm. Blood drive at Indeed
Memorial Blood Centers will hold a blood drive at Indeed Brewing, 711 15th Ave. NE, Monday, Dec. 20, noon-5 pm. The Columbia Heights Police Department is partnering with the American Red Cross on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 10 am-4 pm to host a blood drive in the fire bays at the Columbia Heights Public Safety Building, 825 41st Ave NE.
