2021 Be Heard MN Youth Poetry Slam Series
As TruArtSpeaks celebrates its 15th anniversary, the organization’s annual Be Heard MN Youth Poetry Slam series will once again convene youth poets from around the state to tell their stories, share their art, and build community with one another, Friday, April 23, and Friday, April 30 (Prelims and Finals, respectively, both at 7 pm). An art program utilizing West African symbols that connect to the larger diaspora will be held for teens and adults 13-24. Folks will be guided through a mixed media magical manifestation for and of the community to create work to be displayed. Sessions take place Fridays, July 9-Aug. 6, 2-5 pm on the patio at Northeast Park, 1530 Johnson Street NE. Free, but register with hmiller@minneapolisparks.org.
