Cine Latino Film Festival
The Cine Latino Film Festival returns to The Main Cinema, 115 SE Main St., Oct. 9-13, for five days of Spanish-language films, visiting filmmakers, fiestas and food trucks. This year’s Cine Latino will feature award-winning films from Berlin, Docs Barcelona, Malaga, Seattle and Sundance Film Festivals, along with a full slate of filmmaker conversations, live music, dance performances and nightly fiestas at Pracna to engage the Twin Cities’ growing Spanish-speaking populations as well as global cinephiles. The Edison High School Class of 1949 will gather in the school's Alumni Room, Thursday, Oct. 10 for a 75th reunion luncheon, catered by Marino's Deli. Gather at the Columbia Heights Public Library at 9 am Saturday, Oct. 12, to get safety vests, garbage bags and street assignments. Park assignments are made for families with young children who participate. Each group goes to their area and safely picks up trash from the sidewalks and vegetation along the sidewalks (or park).
