St. Mary’s Taste of Northeast Festival
Friday, Sept. 20 and Saturday, Sept. 21. St. Mary's Orthodox Cathedral, 1701 5th St. NE. Enjoy local ethnic foods including perohi and holubki, pulled pork and lamb sandwiches as well as offerings from food trucks. Live entertainment, a book sale, bingo, beer, and children's activities. Friday night features a live band and dancing and a Vendor Market Place will be held on Saturday.

The Polish American Cultural Institute of Minnesota (PACIM) will dedicate a war memorial for Columbia Heights native Sgt. Walter Shimshock and the heroic B-17 Airlift Crew who sacrificed their lives in support of the 1944 Warsaw Uprising. The wreath-laying and memorial dedication ceremony will take place Saturday, Sept. 21, at 12:45 pm at Huset Park, 530 Mill St. NE.

The congregation of Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church, 1509 27th Ave. NE, will celebrate the church's 110th anniversary Sunday, Sept. 22. This is the exact date that 110 years ago the charter members of GA signed the charter to start the church.
