Ready Camp, two-day emergency preparation training
Learn the basics of emergency preparedness at Ready Camp, hosted by the City of Minneapolis' Emergency Management department, on Oct. 22 and 23. The free two-day training at the Emergency Operations Training Facility will provide you knowledge and skills to build an emergency kit, develop a communication plan, prepare for severe weather emergencies and recovery from an emergency or disaster. The Northeast Community Band will present a free concert at Edison High School, 700 22nd Ave. NE, on Thursday, Oct. 24. Tim Martin will lead the band through "The Old Boatman" by Florence Price, "Autumn" by Alexander Glazunov and Gustav Holst's "First Suite in E♭," among others. The downbeat is at 7 pm.

Truck or Treat returns for its seventh year on Saturday, Oct. 26, 1-4 pm, at Huset Park, 3965 Jefferson St. NE. Columbia Heights and its City departments will collaborate with community partners to help make the event possible. Each vehicle station will hand out candy to middle school and younger kids.
