The Minnesota State Arts Board (MSAB) released its list of artists who received grants for the 2025 fiscal year under the Creative Support for Individuals grant category. A total of $3,552,128 was granted to 364 artists across Minnesota; 23 of those artists have ties to the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District, and were awarded a total of $220,486.
Grant winners with ties to the District include: Alyssa Baguss, Melissa Borman, Rachel Breen, Eric Broker, Marjorie Fedyszyn, Selma Fernandez Richter, Karen Gustafson, Kathleen Kvern, Gregory Lecker, Lala Luzious, Andrew MacGuffie, Mary Jane Mansfield, Megan Marsh Pine, Layl McDill, Laura Migliorino, Ryan Gerald Nelson, Erin Peña, Deb Reutter, Sarah Sampedro, Witt Siasoco, Rosy Simas, Amy Toscani and Cameron Zebrun.
The MSAB website says, “The Creative Support for Individuals grant is designed to help individual artists and culture bearers develop or sustain their creative practices and meaningfully engage with Minnesotans. Grantees may use funds to support their creative practice and meaningfully connect to and engage with audiences, participants, students and/or communities during the grant period.”
