Prairie Restorations is doing a pilot planting on one of the Central Avenue medians between 27th and 37th avenues NE, this summer, following Minnesota Department of Transportation protocols. The remainder of the medians will not be replanted, but will be kept mowed while the success or failure of the pilot median is assessed. MN DOT is providing funding for the planting. If it’s successful, then the same protocol will be followed in future growing seasons on all the medians. The above, according to the Minneapolis First Ward Council Member’s office.
