Music of the Sweet Colleens encouraged folks to stay around til sunset July 29 enjoying beer and street food from several trucks. It’s the annual event where folks interested in the river are bound to run into each other. There were exhibits and great views of the Mississippi from the West River Road vantage point south of Broadway. Wilderness Inquiry paddled by, and the sun setting on downtown buildings made for good photos. One of the River Keepers took small groups boating either up or down the river. “Lowry Bridge” our group requested. From the northernmost point, he piloted the boat into position so everyone could take photos of the downtown skyline framed under the blue-lit bridge. (Photos by Margo Ashmore)
