For several years now, the Bottineau Neighborhood Association (BNA), has been working to alleviate air pollution in the vicinity of the Lowry Avenue Bridge. To continue this work, they need to raise money. The BNA is having a fundraiser, held in conjunction with the California Building’s holiday open studio event, “California Dreamin’.” They will be at the open studio art crawl Friday, Nov. 11, noon-10 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 12, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., at the California Building, 2205 California St. NE, in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District.
The event, which is for family, art enthusiasts and beer lovers, will help pay for BNA’s Phase 2 of the Lowry Bridge area air pollution related cancer and asthma survey. The BNA will be the one’s in the lobby selling raffle tickets and beer from Boom Island and Fair State breweries. They will also direct you to the silent auction where you can put in a bid before heading off to tour all the wonderful artist studios throughout the building. You can get raffle tickets at River Liquors, prizes include: one round trip airfare, dinner and drinks for four, and Ferris Wheel rides and beverages.
