Northside Singers seek members
The Northside Singers, a community choir for high school students and adults, will begin its winter season on Monday, Jan. 27, 7:30-8:45 pm at Patrick Henry High School, 4320 Newton Ave N, Minneapolis. They sing pop, gospel, jazz and folk and perform at residential care centers and community events. Rehearsals weekly on Monday evening. Fee: $10 to Northside Singers and $5 to community ed. Twin Cities Girls’ Choir presents Standing Tall
The Twin Cities Girls’ Choir (TCGC) presents a concert, “Standing Tall,” on Saturday, Dec. 7, at St. Paul Reformation Church, 100 Oxford St. N, St Paul. Several of their singers come from St. Anthony, Columbia Heights and Northeast. The theme of the concert addresses what girls in our world need to be whole, complete, achieve their dreams, and STAND TALL. The girls will present songs that address what they need and share their responses to the question “Why I sing.” The concert is part of TCGC’s 2019-2020 “Enough” series of performances, and marks the journey girls and young women take to discover their worth. The Twin Cities Girls’ Choir is a Minneapolis, performance-based music education program for girls grades 3-9. They offer young women, in two age/ability-based choirs, the experience of musical artistry and excellence through choral singing by empowering them to find their unique voices. Twin Cities Women’s Choir, “The Places We Call Home”
The Twin Cities Women’s Choir presents “The Places We Call Home,” a lighthearted exploration of composers inspired by geography, as well as a more serious look at the effects of not being able to live where we call home. The Twin Cities Women’s Choir includes several singers from Northeast Minneapolis, St. Anthony Village and Columbia Heights. Their concerts will also present their Spring Divas and Desserts Gala, featuring cabaret-style seating, live and silent auctions, delicious desserts, the Twin Cities Women’s Choir and ENCORE. Edison’s Winter Choir Concert
Thomas Edison High School, 700 22nd Ave. NE, will be having a free Winter Choir Concert on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 7 p.m., in the auditorium.
