The 2nd Annual Maker’s Market at the Pillsbury A-Mill Artist Lofts, 315 SE Main St., will take place Dec. 10, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., and Dec. 11, noon-5 p.m. Paintings, pottery, sculpture, photography, fiber arts, millinery, artisan goods and more. Holiday Party at the historic Ard Godfrey House
The public is invited to attend an 1850’s Holiday Party at the historic Ard Godfrey House, 28 University Ave. SE. The event will take place on Sunday, Dec. 4, 12:30-3:30 p.m. Visit the oldest remaining wood frame residence in Minneapolis, built in 1849. The house is decorated for the holidays in the modest style of the era. The event will include light refreshments, musical entertainment, and a tour of the house with Woman’s Club guides dressed in period costume. See how the Godfrey family might have celebrated the holidays in the new community at St. Anthony Falls. Free Godfrey House buttons for the kids and admission is free, donations suggested. Hanging of the Greens
Join Community United Methodist Church, 950 Gould Ave. NE on Saturday, Nov. 26, for a 5:15 p.m. meal and a delightful evening for all. At 6 p.m. they will prepare their sanctuary to usher in the Christmas Season. Both adults and children will place greens and flowers around the church and the Christmas Tree will be lit, while the Christmas story is told and favorite Christmas carols are sung. Totally Awesome 1980’s Christmas event
The Fridley Historical Society dives deep to recreate the 80’s in their Totally Awesome 1980’s Christmas event. While kids are entertained with games and activities, the adults can point, laugh, and groan at everything they loved and hated about the decade. Exhibits include children and teen bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen, all decked out to the max for Christmas. A section of original sports memorabilia is the “granddaddy” of the man cave and an original Ms. Pacman operates at the 80’s price of a quarter.
