Intro to Polymer Clay: ages 7 to 97 will learn magical techniques with colorful oven baked clay. Roll, flatten, wrap and then slice to reveal amazing designs like stars, flowers and swirls. Then take your slices and cover anything you choose from the collection of objects including frames, jars, boxes, utensils and pins. Or make a creature like a frog or owl. You’ll be amazed what you can do. Saturday, Sept. 19, 1-3 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 3, 12-2 p.m. $50 first student, discounts for groups.
Five-Part Virtual Polymer Clay Teapot Class: Learn how to make several detailed canes like butterflies, flowers, and feathers that you will slice and add to your teapot. Layl will also teach the magical “Melting colors” technique and some other fun ways to blend colors to add to your teapot. This is the first time this class has been offered virtually so there may need to be some homework done depending on how fast everyone works. In the end, you will have a fanciful one-of-a-kind teapot that, after you bake it in your own oven, you can actually use. The deadline to sign up in time to get supplies shipped is Sept. 16. This is a five-part course, $185 total for all five days. Saturday, Sept. 26, Oct. 3, 10, 17, and 24, 3-5 p.m.
