“Forty Years” works created by Aldo Moroni

Northeast Minneapolis resident, Aldo Moroni is celebrating his 40th year as a professional fine artist by presenting a collection of 40 works of art. The exhibit will include ceramic wall sculptures that light up, a collection of free standing ceramic garden sculptures, and a very large ten foot long, four foot tall ceramic mountain scape populated with hundreds of small scale buildings. This work will be under construction throughout the show run. The mountain scape is titled, “The Wrath of Vanity.” Moroni will be on site between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday through Friday as he creates this massive work. The opening reception will be Wednesday, Jan. 25, 4-9 p.m. at the ChinDian Cafe, 1500 East Hennepin Ave. There will be courtesy appetizers and a cash bar. The exhibit will run from Wednesday, Jan. 25-Wednesday, Feb. 15. Monday-Thursday: 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m., and 4:30-8 p.m.; Friday: 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m., and 4:30-9 p.m.; Saturday: 5-9 p.m.; and Sunday: Closed.

Moroni will also have a one hour discussion with images of his 40 year experience in the art world, Wednesday, Feb. 8 from 2-3 p.m. And on Tuesday, Feb. 14 he will be hosting a Valentines singles night party (couples welcome too) from 5-9 p.m. Dinner reservations, call 612-676-1818. Zoetic-Our Cumulative Legacy Exhibit

The Women’s Art Resource of Minnesota (WARM) invites you to join them at the Robbin Gallery in Robbinsdale, MN for their newest exhibit, Zoetic: Our cumulative Legacy. The artists involved in this project were asked to respond to the last election. The exhibit runs from Jan. 5–28 at the Robbin Gallery, 4915 42nd Ave. North, Robbinsdale. Robbin Gallery hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30-8:30 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 1-5 p.m. An artist reception will be held on Thursday, Jan. 12, 5:30-8:30 p.m. In addition to the exhibit, on Jan. 20 at 6:30 p.m., a panel of community leaders will be at the Robbin Gallery for a discussion titled “The Trump Trigger” about the political climate and how artists can come together to make a difference. 6th Annual Somali Art and Photo Exhibition

The work of Somali photographer and community activist Mohamed Barre provides a visual exploration and documentation of Somali families in Minnesota. His photography also portrays the changing landscape of Minnesota. The event features community photographer and artist Mohamed Barre’s work that represents current changes in Northeast Minneapolis.
