St. Michael’s and St. George’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church invites the public to attend their annual Ukrainian Easter Egg “Pysanky” Festival. The event will feature egg-making demonstrations, the sale of traditional Ukrainian decorated eggs, Ukrainian Easter breads and baked goods, Ukrainian hand-crafted items, and a traditional Ukrainian dinner featuring cabbage rolls. Altered Esthetics Film Festival
The Altered Esthetics Film Festival presents its 5th season at Strike Theater, 824 18th Ave NE, May 31-June 2 with screenings, performances, and discussions. Each year a theme is selected based upon trends noticed in the selected submissions. This year’s theme, Force Majeure, brings a wide variety of moving-image-based works together to push the bounds of expanded cinema. The festival screens local, national, and international artists. Altered Esthetics is a volunteer-driven nonprofit. Strike Theater is ADA accessible. This event is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. Heights Art Fest
Heights Art Fest will take place Wednesday, Oct. 26, 6-9 p.m. at Murzyn Hall, 530 Mill Street NE, Columbia Heights. This event is free and open to the public. The event will feature food trucks, Dine 1-1, Tastebuds, and A Peace of Cake. There will be local artists, vendors, live music, adult and youth coloring contest with prizes, free beer and wine sampling, a Lions Club cash bar and craft tables featuring local businesses, Created to Grow & Crayola Experience.

Fall Festival at St. John’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 2201 3rd St. NE. Sunday, Oct. 2, 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Join them for Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. Event features bingo, bake sale, handcrafts, silent auction, pull tabs, bottle bonanza, special raffles, games for kids and a $1,000 cash prize.
Riverfront Fest
The Minneapolis Riverfront Partnership with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board and the East Minneapolis Exchange Club, are hosting the fourth annual Riverfront Fest on Friday, July 29, 5:30 p.m. to sunset, on the west bank of the river between Plymouth and Broadway. The event features food trucks, bands, kid‘s activities and water activities. Food and drinks are available for sale but otherwise the event is free for all.

Minneapolis Sister Cities is hosting Minneapolis Sister Cities Day 2016 on Sunday, July 17, 1 p.m – 5 p.m. at Nicollet Island Pavilion, 40 Power St. Celebrate all 12 of the Minneapolis Sister Cities with a free ice cream social and gathering. This family event features multi-cultural entertainment, children activities, ice cream and refreshments. The event highlights all of Minneapolis’ International Sister Cities, with a special spotlight this year on the 25th anniversary of Minneapolis’ Sister City with Tours, France.
