Wildflyer Coffee Launch Party
Wildflyer Coffee, a Minneapolis nonprofit coffee company that creates employment opportunities for youth experiencing homelessness and housing instability, is hosting a launch party to kick off an Indiegogo Campaign to open its first coffee shop Friday, Oct. 18, doors at 6 pm, music at 7 pm at 56 Brewing, 3055 NE Columbia Ave., Suite 102. The coffee company is collaborating with local musicians MPLS DREW, Lavender Daughter, Audiyo Element, and the Immaculate Beings, artists who are diverse in music styles but united in their desire to help Wildflyer Coffee in this effort. 7th Annual Foodie 4-Mile: Fundraiser for the Northeast Farmers Market
A fundraiser for the Northeast Farmers Market and TC Food Justice, 4-mile fun run/walk/stroll, and foodie rally all in one, Saturday, June 22. Runners start in Northeast at the iconic Pioneers Statue in B.F. Nelson Park, then wind along the Mississippi River through the St. Anthony West, Nicollet Island, and St. Anthony Main districts. After crossing the Stone Arch Bridge, they’ll enjoy a different view of the riverfront, then pause under the Hennepin Avenue Bridge for a drink of water. The second half of the run will take you through the wooded west side riverfront parks and Boom Island Park, and then it’s back to B.F. Nelson for refreshments. The Queen of May Dinner and Auction will benefit the Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Columbia Heights, Friday, May 3, 5:30 pm in the church hall at 4030 Jackson St. NE. Little Voyageurs’ Spaghetti Dinner
Little Voyageurs’ Montessori School will host their 13th annual spaghetti dinner, silent auction, and raffle drawing on Friday, April 26, at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church, 825 51st Ave. NE, Columbia Heights. Dinner will be served from 5-7. The silent auction closes at 7:30. Dinner tickets are $10 each and $5 for children 12 and under.
Activities include a bouncy house, face painting, and carnival games. There will also be a fire truck and a police cruiser for children to explore while having the opportunity to interact with firefighters and a police officer. The silent auction has a variety of items including: zoo and water park passes, gift baskets, vouchers for a variety of classes and activities (includes Escape Room, Battle Axed, Arthur Murray dancing), certificates for dining, entertainment, and much more. The raffle drawing will be held at 7:30 pm for over 60 prizes including a gift certificate for R. J. Moeller. Need not be present to win. Raffle tickets ($2) are available at the dinner.
Indeed We Can: Feline Rescue
On Wednesday, April 3, 3-11 pm, Feline Rescue invites you to drink beer for a great cause at Indeed Brewing Company, 711 15th Ave. NE. Order a round or two, and wave your paws in the air knowing the evening’s net proceeds will be donated to Feline Rescue as part of the “Indeed We Can” charitable initiative. This is the fourth year Feline Rescue has been a beneficiary of “Indeed We Can,” and the event is one of the highest attended in the series.
Guests will enjoy cat-themed scratch-offs, door prizes, eats from Simply Steve’s food truck, and a slide show video loop about Feline Rescue and the work the organization does to give cats happy, healthy lives. SAV Band Boosters Pancake Breakfast
The St. Anthony Band Boosters will host a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, March 24, 8:30 am-12:30 pm at St. Anthony Village High School, 3303 33rd Ave NE (in the commons area). There will be music from 8th grade and High School Jazz Bands. Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, children five and under eat free. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, fruit toppings, Dunn Bros. Coffee, orange juice and milk. Auction items and pops concert tickets will also be available.
