The Kiwanis Key Clubs at the high schools of Columbia Heights and Fridley are helping to sell bagged rich compost made by the “Plate to Garden” organics recycling program involving both cities. Each bag (about 20 lbs.) is $3 each with the money going to scholarships at the participating high schools. The compost will be sold every Saturday at the Columbia Heights Recycling Center, Madison Ave. and 38th St., from 9 am-1 pm until winter. You don’t need to live in Columbia Heights or Fridley to buy compost. Treat your garden to the best locally made compost around.
