Children can attend kindergarten for free at St. John Paul II Catholic School, 1630 4th St. NE, in the fall of 2020. The school’s $2,550 annual tuition will be waived for kindergartners until the class is full. In partnership with the University of Notre Dame, St. John Paul II uses blended learning, which combines targeted, personalized online lessons, small-group learning and classroom instruction to fill the gaps in each scholar’s knowledge. At the same time, their teachers employ instructional methods that help every scholar successfully work with rigorous grade-level material.
If distance learning is necessary again this school year, JPII will build on their success from the spring, when their scholars showed high growth. In reading, 31% of scholars were at grade level before distance learning, and 85% were at grade level by the end of the school year. All are invited to a virtual open house from 7-8 pm on Thursday, Aug. 6. Principal Menzhuber will have a short presentation and answer all questions.
St. John Paul II Catholic School is a part of Ascension Catholic Academy, a consortium of three urban Catholic schools. Information about enrolling at St. John Paul II can be found at johnpaulschoolmn.org or by calling 612-789-8851.
