Buy compost at CH Recycling Center Saturdays
The Columbia Heights High School Key Club is selling finished compost as part of the MN Composting Council’s “Plate to Garden Compost” fundraiser at the Columbia Heights recycling center, 3801 Madison St. open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. People do not have to be Columbia Heights residents to receive the compost. Kiwanis selling compost
The Kiwanis Key Clubs at the high schools of Columbia Heights and Fridley are helping to sell bagged rich compost made by the “Plate to Garden” organics recycling program involving both cities.

Columbia Heights, Fridley Kiwanis celebrate 40 years of recycling
Saturday, Sept. 16, 9 am-12 pm at the Columbia Heights Recycling Center, 3801 Madison St. NE. Meet your volunteers and learn how current recycling practices enhance our communities and protect our environment. Refreshments will be served while supplies last. Remember to bring your soft plastics for recycling into benches (anything stretchable); cardboard, newspapers and periodicals; scrap metals; fluorescent light bulbs; and more. Even dust-covered bicycles are accepted.
